The Vision

To create secure, self-sustaining, affordable rental housing.

The Mission

To design and build a collaborative, harmonious community,
by creating a viable working model of co-housing which enables
independent, healthy living, that can be replicated;
and to collaborate with other like-minded organisations
in order to maximise potential synergies that may emerge.

Smart Model Value Propositions

1. Significant increase in quality of life for residents.
2. Less dependency on the Welfare System.
3. Significant benefits for surrounding communities.
4. Local enterprise stimulation and research creation.

PROBLEMS THAT MUST BE ADDRESSED

Homelessness and problems associated with it, in line with the concept “housing first”.

Meeting rental payments as a residential tenant on government benefits or low income and with other complications, such as with owning pets etc.

Being forced out of an area, due to un-affordable rental cost.

Feeling unsupported and unappreciated if forced to live in “soulless new surroundings” separated from friends and family.

Younger generation in regional areas being forced to move into metropolitan areas due to lack of work, transport, TAFE and tertiary education facilities and career opportunities.

Sole dependency on the welfare system, which may collapse in the interim to long term.

Depression, due to social isolation.

Smart Living Villages

Picture
Specifically designed for an ageing population to create a self reliant community that is less reliant on public funding.

To be set in pleasant surroundings with well-designed, low-maintenance, quality cabins, manufactured homes, duplexes, a tiny house area and RV docks all within walking distance to a centrally located "Social Hub".

Village Infrastructure to include a generator, battery storage, solar panels and wind turbine capable of delivering power to all dwellings.

Dwellings will offer long-term affordable rentals for residents.

Residents will be encouraged to operate their own business from their homes. Their services may offer goods to other residents and visiting tourists, markets, etc., which will then in turn  provide them with a small income for sustainable living.

This model Village is perfectly suited for rural properties within close proximity to towns.

An area of gardens / farmland is envisaged to provide an infra-structure for a diverse range of produce. Some commercial activities will be executed under the umbrella of the Society, creating paid positions for the residents and creating revenue and individual enterprises.

We want to build a hope for the future by working together as a community and ensure that we provide a great lifestyle for the residents.
